European Creative Futures 2017

The European Creative Futures programme will take place in Lahti University of Applied Sciences from Monday the 9th January to Saturday the 14th January.  Students will arrive in the beautiful region of Lahti in Finland on Sunday the 8th January and leave on Sunday the 15th. Students  from a wide range of courses of study are welcome to participate and previous students hailed from Public Relations, Fine Art, Multimedia, Agriculture, Music, Theatre and Drama, Design, Business Information Systems, and Business. The countown to ECF 2016!!

The ECF team are busy getting prepared for the arrival of all the participants for the 2016 programme.   We are very excited to get started and see what these talented students can come up with when we get them all working together! We are welcoming students from Cork Institute of Technology, Lahti University of Applied Sciences, The Norwegian Academy of Music and Hogeschool Utrecht University of Applied Sciences along with students from this year’s host university Southampton Solent University.

Innovative teams pitch their business ideas

The intensive programme finished on a high on Sunday morning with all of the hard working teams presenting their business ideas to the ECF staff and students.  The amount of dedication and work that each participant put in to their idea was very evident with each group producing a poster to display their idea, a business plan to outline the details of their business idea and a well polished team pitch of their idea.

European Students Gather to Create and Innovate at CIT

Students and staff from the UK, Finland, Norway, the Netherlands, and Ireland are in CIT to take part in an innovative programme aimed at encouraging a culture of entrepreneurship among students from a range of disciplines. Called ‘European Creative Futures’, this Intensive Programme is hosted by CIT, bringing together students from five European countries with the aim of promoting business acumen and entrepreneurial know-how among students intending to pursue careers in the creative industries. ECF programme 2015

The holidays are officially over and we at Cork Institute of Technology are getting excited about welcoming the next group of European Creative Futures participants. This year the programme will run for a week from Monday 19th January until Sunday 25th January and will see the student groups work together in groups to come up with creative and innovative business ideas. Each year the groups impress with what they achieve through the course of the programme and we are all excited to see this years outcome.

ECF Students present their business ideas

Eight multidisciplinary groups presented their ideas on the final day of the European Creative Futures programme 2014.  Each group comprised of students from Ireland, England, Finland, Norway and Holland. The variety of skills on display were impressive and the various perspectives from all students added an interesting and detailed dimension  to each business pitch. Students were also asked to showcase their idea with a exhibition space, which involved presenting strong visual material such as posters, websites and fliers.     We are really looking forward to welcoming the staff and students from all of the partner institutes to the European Creative Futures programme in January 2014.  We have no doubt that we will be impressed by all of the enthusiasm and innovative ideas. Until then, we would like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and prosperous start to an exciting 2014.
